Winn elected chair of University Physicians

Hung Winn, M.D., J.D., MBA, has been elected to a two-year term as chair of University Physicians. With more than 400 physicians trained in nearly 70 specialties and subspecialties, University Physicians is the largest multi-specialty medical group practice in mid-Missouri. The group provides inpatient and outpatient care at University of Missouri Health Care hospitals and clinics in Columbia and throughout the state. Winn, the David G. Hall Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the MU School of Medicine, also serves as chair of the medical school’s Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health. “I plan to continue our transformation into an innovative clinical enterprise,” Winn said. “I also plan to work closely with other leaders to advance our health sciences center in serving our patients, educating future health care providers and discovering new medical knowledge.” A specialist in high-risk and complicated pregnancies, Winn is the author and senior editor of Clinical Maternal-Fetal Medicine, one of the most widely used textbooks in his field. Winn succeeds Gregory Worsowicz, MD, MBA, a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician and HealthSouth Chair in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Worsowicz served as chair of University Physicians from 2005 to 2008.
