The Health Sciences Research Day

Students are encouraged to present the results of their research at Student Research Day, held each fall at the School of Medicine. This day-long symposium is filled with poster presentations by medical and graduate students with prizes awarded to the three best presentations in each student category.

The Health Sciences Research Day, Thursday, November 6, 2008, will provide a forum for original research and educational innovations by medical students, Conley Scholars, nursing and health professions students, and pre/post-doctoral trainees working with faculty appointed in the Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Health Professions.

Research Day will also feature the keynote address by the recipient of the 2008 Dorsett L. Spurgeon M.D. Distinguished Medical Research Award.

The poster session will be judged separately for two Categories of students. Within each Category, there will be two sections as follows: (a) Clinical Science (involving human participants), and (b) Basic Science. Therefore, the Categories for separate judging will be as follows:

Category I - Conley Scholars, Undergraduate Students, Medical Students (including summer research fellows)

  • Section A: Clinical Science (involving human participants)
  • Section B: Basic Science

Category II - Graduate Students/Postdoctoral Research Fellows, Medical Fellows and Residents
